When Jesus was alive, there were some people who didn't like him and wanted to get rid of him. They thought he was saying things that were not okay and they felt he was causing problems for them. So one night, while Jesus was hanging out with his friends, some soldiers came and arrested him. They took him away to a special court where they accused him of doing wrong things. Jesus explained that he was not doing anything wrong and that he was trying to help people. But the people who didn't like him didn't believe him, and so they decided to punish him by having him nailed to a big wooden cross to die. This was a very sad and terrible thing to happen, but Jesus knew what was going to happen and he accepted it because he loved everyone and wanted to save them from their sins. Many years later, people remember Jesus and his love, and they celebrate his life during Easter time.
