Artificial demand

Artificial demand is when companies pretend that customers want their products, when maybe not many people do. They do this by spending a lot of money advertising their products, or by making it seem like their products are more popular than they are. To make it simple, artificial demand is when companies create a false demand for their products, so people think lots of people want them and buy them, when really not that many people do.
