An artificial society is a group of people that are created by a computer to act like people in a real society. The people in this society can be given different jobs, interests and goals. In order to make the society work, the computer controls how the people work together, and how they interact with one another. This means that the computer is like the leader of the society and the people in it follow the rules set by the computer. This allows the computer to create different kinds of societies and people can watch how the society functions and interacts with each other in a controlled environment to help us learn more about how real societies work.
