Artificial structures visible from space

Hey kiddo, have you ever looked up at the sky and wondered what’s out there? Well, sometimes people use really cool machines called satellites to take pictures of what the Earth looks like from way up high in space. And you know what they see sometimes? Artificial structures – which means things that people have built – that are so big and interesting that they can be seen all the way from space!

Some of these artificial structures are man-made, which means that people built them using their hands and tools like hammers, saws, and drills. For example, there is a really long wall called the Great Wall of China that snakes around the countryside, and it’s so long that it can be seen from space! This wall was built a very long time ago to keep bad guys out of China, and now it’s a really cool tourist attraction.

Other artificial structures are made by nature but with help from people. For example, there is a giant spiral in Peru that is made out of soil and rocks, and it looks like a really big picture from up in space! It’s called the Nazca Lines, and scientists think that people who lived a long time ago drew them there to show their gods something special.

So, when people talk about artificial structures visible from space, they mean big, interesting things that humans or nature made that are so big that we can see them from way up high in space!
