Artificial sweetener

Artificial sweeteners are like magic sugar that's not really sugar. You know how when you eat sweet things like candy or cake, they taste really yummy but they can also make you sick if you eat too much? Well, artificial sweeteners are special because they taste just as sweet as regular sugar but you can eat a lot more of them without getting sick.

Think of it like this: if you want to eat a big bag of candy, your mom or dad might tell you that you can only have a few pieces because too much candy is bad for you. But if you have some candy that's made with artificial sweetener, you can eat a lot more of it before you start feeling icky.

Artificial sweeteners are often used in foods and drinks that say "diet" or "lite" on the label because they don't have as many calories as regular sugar. This means that even though they taste sweet, they won't make you gain as much weight. But remember, just because something is made with an artificial sweetener doesn't mean you should eat a ton of it all the time. It's still important to eat lots of healthy foods like fruits and vegetables too!
