Artist-run initiative

An artist-run initiative is an organization that is run by artists. Usually, this means the artists are in charge of making decisions about the projects, programs, and events that happen within the organization. Artist-run initiatives can be different types of organizations, like galleries, festivals, or studios. The artists that run the initiative work together with other artists and members of the community to make sure their ideas are realized and to help promote art in their local community.
