Aspidomancy

Aspidomancy is like trying to talk to someone in another world! Imagine trying to talk to someone who lives on a different planet, you can't just call them like a regular phone call. Instead, people in the past used aspidomancy which is trying to communicate by throwing a shield or metal plate into water and waiting for it to make a sound. This was done in hopes of hearing or receiving messages from the other side. It sounds like magic, but it was a popular belief in the past that this could work. People also believed that spirits or gods could communicate with them through the sound of the metal hitting the water. Today, we know that this type of communication is not possible, and we rely on modern technology like phones and computers instead.
