Assimilados

Assimilados are people in Brazil who aren't officially recognized as citizens but are treated like citizens. They usually have jobs and pay taxes in the same way that citizens do and are able to use some of the same services, like healthcare and education, but they don't get to vote or have the same legal rights as citizens. It's kind of like being an honorary citizen.
