ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Assonance

Assonance is a fancy word that means when two or more words sound the same. You know when you sing a little song like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"? That part where you sing "How I wonder what you are" is an example of assonance because "how" and "you" both sound like the "ow" sound. It's like they have a secret code where they say the same sound without actually being the exact same word. It's kind of like a secret handshake between words that sound alike.
