Asteroid impact prediction

Asteroid impact prediction is the science of trying to figure out when a large space rock will crash into Earth, or somewhere else in our solar system. Scientists use computers and mathematical models to analyze information they gather from all over the world to try and figure out when an asteroid will hit. Then they can warn and prepare people in the area so they can stay safe. This is especially important if the asteroid could be dangerous—like if it's very big or traveling very fast!
