ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

At-risk students

Dear little one,

"At-risk students" are kids who may have a difficult time in school or in their personal lives. They might face challenges that make it tough for them to succeed, like not having enough food, having trouble paying attention in class, or not feeling safe at home or at school. They might also struggle with their grades, have trouble making friends, or dealing with difficult feelings like sadness or anger.

When we say "at-risk," we mean that these kids are more likely to experience problems in school or life than other kids who don't face these challenges. That's why it's important for teachers, parents, and other adults to pay attention to these kids and help them get the support they need to succeed.

So, we need to be kind to these students and help them in any way we can so that they can feel happy and successful like everyone else!
