Hi there! Today we are going to talk about Atlantic Canada. Atlantic Canada is a group of provinces in the eastern part of Canada. The four provinces that make up Atlantic Canada are New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
Now let's talk about each of these provinces a little bit more.
New Brunswick is the largest of these provinces and is known for its forests, wildlife, and rivers. People who live in New Brunswick speak both French and English.
Newfoundland and Labrador is known for its rocky coastline, icebergs, and fishing industry. Newfoundland and Labrador is also where the very first transatlantic radio signal was received! People who live in Newfoundland and Labrador have their own unique dialect of English which is fun to listen to.
Nova Scotia is known for its beautiful beaches, seafood, and history. One famous place in Nova Scotia is Peggy's Cove, which has a lighthouse and is a popular tourist attraction.
Prince Edward Island (PEI) is the smallest of the provinces in Atlantic Canada. It is known for its red sand beaches, delicious food, and friendly people. PEI is also the setting for the book Anne of Green Gables, which is about a young girl who lives on a farm on the island.
