Attis is a character from ancient mythology who was worshipped as a god in the region we now call Turkey. His story is a bit complicated, but I will try to explain it in simple terms.
Attis was believed to be a handsome and brave young man who caught the eye of a powerful goddess named Cybele. Cybele was the goddess of nature and fertility, and she fell deeply in love with Attis.
