ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Attribute-based encryption

So, imagine you have a really cool secret diary that you want to keep safe. Normally, you might lock it with a key so that only you can read what's inside.

Attribute-based encryption is like having a super special lock that needs more than just a key to open it. Instead, it needs a list of things that you must have or be in order to unlock it.

For example, you might say that only people who are at least 18 years old and have the secret password can open your diary. Or maybe only people who have the secret password and are your best friends.

So basically, attribute-based encryption lets you protect your stuff by setting up a list of rules that must be followed in order to access it. It's like a secret club that only certain people are allowed to join.
