Auteur

An auteur is someone who puts their own personal touch on the movies they make. Like in painting, an artist will put their own unique style into the painting. An auteur does the same thing with movies. They make the movie their own by deciding what kind of story is being told, what kind of characters are in it, and creating a certain style of visuals and sound. This way, when someone watches one of the auteur's movies, it looks and sounds like no other movie by anyone else.
