linux capabilities

Linux capabilities are a way of limiting what someone can do when using a computer. On a Linux computer, there are special type of privileges which are called “capabilities”. These are special privileges which can be used to control what a user can do with the computer. For example, you can use capabilities to limit what someone can install, what they can delete, and how they can use the computer. This way, you can make sure that they cannot cause any harm to your computer.
