Author

An author is someone who writes stories or books. They use their imagination and creativity to come up with ideas and then use words to make those ideas come to life on paper. Just like when you draw pictures, an author creates something from their ideas, except they do it with words. Some authors write fiction, which means they make up stories that aren't true, while others write nonfiction, which means they write about real things or events. When they're done writing, they send their work to a publisher who helps get their book or story to readers so others can enjoy it too.
