Authorship

Authorship is when a person writes something, like a book or an article, and their name is on it as the person who made it. It's like when you draw a picture or write a story and you put your name on it.

Sometimes, more than one person can work together to create something, like a group project at school. When that happens, they have to decide who gets to be the author or authors.

Being an author means that you get credit for your work, and people will know that you made it. Sometimes, authors get famous because lots of people like what they made. But even if they don't become famous, being an author can be really cool because you get to share your ideas and creativity with others!
