Azov campaigns (1695–96)

Okay kiddo, so a long time ago in 1695-1696, there was a group of people called the Azov campaigns. They were basically a bunch of soldiers who went to fight in a war against another group of people in southern Russia.

The war was called the Russo-Turkish War and it was between the Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire. The Azov campaigns were sent to help the Russian Empire by capturing a city called Azov.

Capturing Azov was important because it was a strategic location and it would make it harder for the Ottoman Empire to attack Russia from the south. The soldiers who were part of the Azov campaigns had to fight hard to capture the city and it took a lot of bravery and determination.

In the end, the Azov campaigns were successful and they captured the city of Azov. This helped the Russian Empire win the war and it also helped make Russia stronger and more powerful.

So basically, the Azov campaigns were a group of soldiers who were sent to fight in a war and capture an important city for their country. They were successful and helped their country win the war.
