Bánh chưng

Bánh chưng is a special type of food that is very popular in Vietnam. It is usually eaten during celebrations such as the Lunar New Year.

Now, imagine a big square made of rice. Yes, rice grains that are stuck together with a special sticky rice called glutinous rice. Imagine it like making a sandwich with two big slices of rice bread on either side, but instead of bread, it's made of rice!

This big square of rice is then filled with yummy fillings like pork, mung beans, onion, and a special kind of spice called black pepper. It's like making a rice sandwich filled with delicious ingredients!

Once all the fillings are in the rice sandwich, it's tightly wrapped with big leaves like banana or dong leaves. This helps to keep everything inside super-duper fresh and it adds an extra flavor to the dish too!

Finally, the big square of rice with all the fillings inside is boiled until it is cooked perfectly. All the ingredients inside are mixed together to create a very tasty and healthy meal that you can share with family and friends!

So, just remember, bánh chưng is like making a big square sandwich out of rice and filling it with yummy stuff before cooking it to perfection! Yum!
