BPMN

BPMN stands for Business Process Model and Notation. It is a way to draw pictures that help us understand how businesses work. Think of it like drawing a map. A map helps us understand how to get from one place to another. BPMN helps us understand how work moves through a business.

BPMN pictures use different shapes to represent different things. For example, a circle might represent a task or a box might represent a decision. Lines connecting the shapes show how work moves from one shape to another. Think of the lines like a path on the map.

When we draw a BPMN picture, we are showing how work gets done. For example, if we were drawing a BPMN picture for a pizza restaurant, we might start with a circle that represents "Take Order". We might then draw a line to a box that represents "Make Pizza". From there, we might draw a line to another box that represents "Bake Pizza". Finally, we might draw a line to a circle that represents "Deliver Pizza". This would be our BPMN picture for how a pizza order gets processed.

BPMN can be really helpful because it helps everyone understand how work gets done. If we see a picture of how work gets done, we can see where things might be going wrong or where we could make improvements. It's like having a map that shows us where the roadblocks are. If we know where the roadblocks are, we can find a better way to get to our destination.
