ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Baiyue

Baiyue was a group of people who lived in ancient China a long, long time ago. They were made up of many different tribes and cultures, kind of like how we have many different people and cultures living in our world today.

Baiyue people lived in Southern China and areas like Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hunan. They were known for different things, like hunting, fishing, farming, and making things like pottery and cloth. Some of them even had special skills, like making weapons or doing magic.

One of the most famous Baiyue people was a woman named Yue Fei. She was a brave warrior who fought for her people and is still remembered today as a hero in China.

The Baiyue people were eventually conquered by the Han Chinese, who were a different group of people. But even though they were conquered, the influence of the Baiyue people can still be seen in the customs, traditions, and culture of Southern China today.
