Balinese saka calendar

Okay, kiddo, have you ever heard of a calendar? It's a way to keep track of time and know what day it is. In Bali, they have a special calendar called the Balinese Saka calendar.

It's based on the movements of the moon and the sun, and it has 12 months just like our regular calendar. However, each month has 35 days instead of the usual 30 or 31 days.

The Balinese people use this calendar to help them plan important events and celebrations, like weddings, ceremonies, and religious festivals.

Each year starts on a different date in the Balinese Saka calendar, depending on the cycles of the moon and sun. And get this – they have two different new year's celebrations: one for the regular calendar, and one for the Balinese Saka calendar!

The Balinese people take their calendar very seriously. They believe that certain days are more auspicious than others, so they will avoid doing important things like starting a new business or getting married on certain days that they think are bad luck.

So the Balinese Saka calendar might seem a bit complicated, but it's just their way of keeping track of time and making sure that they have good luck and success in all their important events.
