Balkan sprachbund

The Balkan Sprachbund is a group of languages that are spoken in parts of the Balkan peninsula in Europe. These languages are related in some ways, but they are not the same language. For example, some of the languages, like Albanian and Bulgarian, use the same words and grammar but with different pronunciations. Other languages, like Greek, have different words and grammar. But all of the languages in the Balkan Sprachbund share some similar features, like some of the same grammar rules and some of the same words. So, for example, a person speaking one of the languages will understand someone else speaking a different one in the Sprachbund.
