Balloon Array for RBSP Relativistic Electron Losses

A balloon array is a technique used to study the Earth's magnetic field and its interaction with particles in space. This technique is used to study how particles, such as electrons, move in and around the Earth's magnetic field. When a balloon is launched into space, it carries special instruments that can measure the magnetic field and how particles interact with it. The balloon also carries an array of detectors, which are small, light-sensitive detectors. The detectors are placed in a pattern in the balloon and can detect the electrons that are being lost from the Earth's magnetic field and how much energy they are losing. By studying the energy losses, scientists can better understand how the Earth's magnetic field affects space weather.
