Banknotes of the Canadian dollar

Alright kiddo, have you ever seen a piece of paper with some special drawings and numbers on it which we use to buy things? Yes, that's right, it's called money!

Now, in Canada, we have a special type of money called banknotes which are actually the paper money, or bills, that we use. They come in different colors and sizes to help people easily recognize them.

Each banknote has a special picture, symbol, or famous Canadian on it, so we can remember who they are and what they did. For example, the $10 bill has a picture of Viola Desmond, who fought for equality for Black people and was a civil rights activist.

All banknotes have some important information on them too, like their value, the serial number which identifies each banknote, and other special features to make them hard to counterfeit, which means someone trying to make fake money. These features include raised ink, holograms, and special materials which can only be seen under specific light.

We have to be careful with our banknotes, as they get old and worn out over time, so sometimes the bank replaces them with new ones to keep the money safe and secure.

So, banknotes are just special paper money in Canada that have pictures, symbols, and important information on them, and are designed to be hard to fake.
