Basal shoot

A basal shoot is like a baby plant that grows from the root or the bottom part of a bigger plant. Just like how you grow taller when you eat healthy food and drink lots of milk, a plant also grows more shoots and leaves when it gets good nutrients from soil and water. A basal shoot is an important part of a plant because it helps the plant to spread out and grow more leaves and flowers. It's like a plant's big brother or sister who helps them out when they need it.
