Bastille
Bastille is a big place in France where they used to put people who didn't agree with the king. It's like a big jail with lots of walls and guards to keep people inside.
One day, a long time ago, a group of people decided they didn't like the king anymore and wanted to take over the Bastille to get some of the guns and other things inside to help them. They went to the Bastille and asked the guards to open the gate, but the guards said no. So, they went back home and got some more people to help them.
Finally, they came back with a lot of people and they broke the wall of the Bastille and went inside. They found some guns and other things they needed and the people were very happy. They shouted, "We have taken the Bastille!" and this became very famous.
After that day, the king realized that people were very unhappy and he made some changes to try and make them happy again. But, the Bastille became a symbol of hope for people who were not happy with the way things were, and people still talk about it today.
