Batek people

The Batek people are an indigenous group of people who live in Malaysia and parts of Thailand. They are a hunter-gatherer society and have lived in the same area for thousands of years. The Batek people have their own language and distinct culture, which includes a reverence for nature, living off the land and a unique set of spiritual beliefs. They do not have a formal government, choosing instead to stay close to their traditional way of life. Despite this, they use modern conveniences such as cell phones and television when available. The Batek people live their lives with respect to the forest and nature, and this is an important part of their identity.
