civil war

A civil war is when people inside a country fight against each other. People who live in the same country normally agree on most things, but sometimes they have different opinions and disagree. When the disagreement is strong enough and the two sides disagree so much that they can't figure out how to get along, they might decide to fight instead. A civil war is a war that takes place inside a country between different groups of people who live there.
