ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Insurgency

Insurgency is when a group of people fight against a bigger group, like a government or an army. It's like when you and your friends try to take over your tree house from your older sister and her friends.

The people who start the insurgency are usually upset because they feel like they're being treated unfairly or not being heard. They might want to change the way things are done or the rules that are being followed.

Insurgency is also a type of war, but it's not like the ones you see in movies. The group that starts the insurgency doesn't have a big army or fancy weapons like tanks or planes. They usually use small guns or homemade bombs.

Sometimes, the bigger group will try to talk to the smaller group to try and work out their problems. But other times, they might use force to stop the insurgency. This can lead to a lot of fighting, and it can be very dangerous for everyone involved.

So remember, insurgency is when a small group of people fight against a bigger group, usually because they're upset about something. It's like trying to take over your tree house from your sister, but much more serious. It's always better to talk things out and find a peaceful solution.
