Bathsheba was a woman who lived a long time ago in a place called Israel. She was married to a man named Uriah who was very important in the army.
One day, the King of Israel, King David, saw Bathsheba taking a bath and he really liked her. He wanted her to be his wife, even though she was already married to Uriah.
So, King David asked his soldiers to send Uriah away to battle, where he would be killed, and then Bathsheba would become his wife.
But God did not like what King David did, as it was wrong and unfair to Uriah and Bathsheba. God punished the King and his family. Bathsheba eventually became one of King David's wives, but it was not a happy story because of how it happened.
