Battle of Aleppo (2012–2016)

Okay, so there was a city called Aleppo in a country called Syria. Some people there were rebelling against the leader of Syria, named Bashar al-Assad. They didn't like the way he was running things and wanted him to step down.

So, they started fighting with the government army in 2012. The government wanted to keep control of Aleppo, so they fought back.

It was like two sides playing a game of tag, but with guns and bombs. They would chase each other around the city, trying to gain control of different areas and buildings.

Even though many people in Aleppo didn't want to be part of the fighting, they got caught in the middle. They didn't have enough food, water, or other supplies they needed to live. They had to leave their homes and become refugees, which means they had to find a new place to live where they would be safe.

It was a really long and hard battle that lasted for four years. Eventually, the government army took control of the whole city and the rebels were defeated. But, not before a lot of people lost their homes, their loved ones, or their lives. It was really sad and a lot of people around the world tried to help by sending food and aid to the people of Aleppo.
