Battle of Fort Eben-Emael

Okay, so imagine you and your friends are playing a game of hide and seek. You're hiding in a big fort that has very tall walls and lots of rooms. Suddenly, some of your friends who are "it" start using special tools to cut through the walls and sneak up on you. This is kind of like what happened during the Battle of Fort Eben-Emael.

In real life, during World War II, there was a fort in Belgium called Fort Eben-Emael. The fort had really thick walls and lots of big guns, which made it very hard for enemy soldiers to attack. But in 1940, some soldiers from Germany, who were trying to take over the fort, came up with a plan. They used tools called gliders to quietly fly over the walls and land on top of the fort. Once they were there, they quickly took over the fort and disabled the big guns, allowing the German army to take control of the area.

It was a very clever and sneaky plan, which is why the Battle of Fort Eben-Emael is often remembered as an important moment in World War II.
