Battle of Lake Khasan

Okay, imagine there were two groups of people who lived next to a big lake. These groups didn't like each other very much, and they both wanted control of the land around the lake.

One day, one group decided to start building a road to make it easier for them to get around. The other group didn't like this and said they couldn't build the road. The first group ignored them and kept building anyway.

This made the second group very angry and they started to gather their soldiers. The first group did the same. They met near the lake and had a big battle.

The battle was very intense and both sides suffered a lot of casualties. It lasted for several days, but eventually the first group won the battle and were able to continue building their road.

However, it was a very sad and unnecessary war, because both sides ended up losing a lot of people and resources. It would have been better if they had just tried to talk things out instead of fighting.
