ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

lunar cycle

The lunar cycle is a special cycle that we can see in the night sky. It's the cycle of how the moon looks from Earth from night to night. Each night, the moon looks a little bit different. After about 28 days (4 weeks), the moon has circled all the way around and it starts back at the same place. So, if you look up at the sky on the same day and time each month, you'll be able to see the moon move through all different shapes and sizes!
