Beam-powered propulsion

Beam-powered propulsion is when you use lasers, microwaves, or x-rays to push an object forward. Imagine you are using a giant mirror like a paddle. You shoot a laser at it, and the light bounces off the mirror pushing it in the opposite direction, in the same way that pushing a paddle in the water makes a boat go forward. This is how beam-powered propulsion works, except the paddle is the mirror, and the laser is pushing it.
