Bee and wasp stings

So, bees and wasps are bugs that have pointy butts, and sometimes they sting us. When a bee or a wasp stings you, it means they poke you with their pointy butt and leave a little bit of their poison inside your skin. This can make the area start to hurt, itch, and get swollen.

Bees and wasps have different kinds of stingers. Bees can only sting one time because their stinger is barbed, which means it gets stuck in your skin and pulls out part of the bee's insides. This makes the bee die after it stings you. Wasps, on the other hand, can sting you multiple times because their stinger is not barbed and they can pull it out easily without hurting themselves.

If you get stung by a bee, it's important to get the stinger out as soon as possible. You can gently scrape it out with a credit card or your fingernail - don't try to pull it out with your fingers because that can make even more of the bee's poison go inside your skin. After you get the stinger out, you can put a cold, wet cloth on the sting to help reduce the pain and swelling.

If you get stung by a wasp, you just need to wash the area with soap and water and ice it down to help with the pain and swelling.

It's important to be careful around bees and wasps and not make them mad by swatting at them or poking them. If they feel threatened, they might sting you. So, it's best to just leave them alone and let them do their bug thing.
