ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Behind closed doors (sport)

Behind closed doors is when a sport happens without any fans or people watching in person. This is like playing a game with just your friends without any parents around to watch. In sports, this happens sometimes when there are safety concerns or when there aren't enough people allowed in the stadium. It can also happen during a pandemic when it's not safe for a lot of people to be together in one place. Even though there aren't any fans watching in person, the game is still broadcasted on television so people can still watch it from home.
