Benveniste

Okay kiddo, so let's talk about something called Benveniste. Have you ever heard the word "language"? It's how we talk to each other and tell people what we need or want. And do you know how we can write down language so we can remember it? That's called writing.

Well, Benveniste was a really smart man who studied language and how people use it. He thought that language was super important and that it even helped shape how we think and understand the world around us.

He also thought that different languages have their own unique ways of expressing ideas and feelings. For example, in English we might say "I am hungry" while in Spanish they might say "tengo hambre." Even though the words are different, they both mean the same thing.

Benveniste was really interested in how languages can change over time and how they affect the way people act and think. He studied lots of different languages and cultures to try and understand how they all work.
