Beowulf

Beowulf is a story about a brave man who fights monsters. It is a very old story that people from long ago used to tell each other. It was written down about a thousand years ago by someone who was a poet.

The story starts in a place called Geatland where Beowulf, a very strong and courageous man lives. One day, he hears about a monster named Grendel who is attacking people in a nearby kingdom called Heorot. Beowulf decides to go help them and he sets out on a long journey.

When he arrives in Heorot, the people there are very scared of Grendel. The monster has been killing their warriors and no one has been able to stop him. But Beowulf is not afraid. He stays up all night waiting for Grendel to come and when he does, Beowulf grabs him and fights him with his bare hands! Beowulf is so strong that he is able to rip Grendel's arm off and the monster runs away, never to be seen again.

But the story is not over yet. Grendel's mother, a powerful and dangerous creature, comes to seek revenge. So Beowulf sets out to the swamps where she lives and again, fights her with nothing but his strength and courage. He kills her, but not without being injured himself.

The last part of the story takes place many years later when Beowulf has become a king and is faced with another monster, a dragon. He fights the dragon with a sword and is able to slay it, but he dies from his wounds.

Beowulf is a story that teaches us about the importance of bravery, loyalty, and fighting for what is right. It is a very famous story that has been told and retold for hundreds of years.
