Politics is the way that groups of people make decisions about their communities. People in the community form groups called political parties and each party has their own ideas about how to make their community better. When it’s time to make a decision about something, the different parties compete against each other to try to get their ideas accepted. People in the community can then choose which party they think has the best ideas and vote for them. That way, the party with the most votes can make the decision and make their ideas happen.
