Political polarization

Political polarization means that people tend to have very strong opinions about political topics, and they usually agree with others who have similar opinions. For example, if you are a Republican you probably believe a lot of things that Democrats don't believe, and it can create a lot of disagreements between the two sides. Political polarization makes it harder for people on both sides to agree on anything, because they don't share the same belief systems.
