Bernard Schriever

Bernard Schriever was a man who was really good at making rockets and space stuff. He was kind of like a rocket scientist. He helped make sure that the United States had really good rockets during the Cold War, which was a time when America and Russia were really not getting along. He even helped make a special kind of rocket called the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (or ICBM for short), which could fly really far and really fast. This made it so that America could protect itself from other countries who might want to attack us. Bernard Schriever was a really smart and important person in making sure that America was safe during a time when we needed it the most.
