ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Beth-horon

Okay, so Beth-Horon is a place that's mentioned in the Bible. It's a town that was built near a steep hill in Israel.

Now, to really understand Beth-Horon, you need to know a little bit about the Israelites and their enemies, the Philistines. The Philistines were very strong and had lots of soldiers. They wanted to take over Israel and the Israelites were scared of them.

So, one day, the Philistines were trying to attack the Israelites who were in Beth-Horon. The Israelites were scared and didn't know what to do. But then, something amazing happened. God helped the Israelites by sending down a huge storm of hailstones that killed many of the Philistines!

Because of this miracle, the Israelites were able to defeat the Philistines and protect their town. After that, Beth-Horon became a really important place for the Israelites.

So, Beth-Horon is kind of like a symbol of how God helped the Israelites in their time of need, and it's a reminder that even when things seem scary, God can be there to help us.
