ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bhujapidasana

Okay kiddo, have you been practicing your yoga postures? Today we’re going to talk about a pose called bhujapidasana! It’s a pretty tricky one, so make sure to stay focused and listen closely.

Let’s start by breaking down the name of the pose. Bhujapidasana is made up of two words: bhujanga and pidasana. Bhujanga means “snake” and pidasana means “pressure.” So, when we put these words together, we get a pose that looks like a snake under pressure!

To do bhujapidasana, you’ll need to start in a squatting position with your feet close together and your hands placed on the floor in front of you. Then, bring your knees up as high as you can towards your armpits, and carefully place your arms between your legs so that your shins are resting on your triceps (the muscles at the back of your upper arms).

Now, carefully shift your weight forward onto your hands and lift your feet off the ground. This part can be pretty tricky, so you might need to practice a few times before you get it right!

Once you’re up in the air, try to balance on your hands and hold the pose for a few breaths. Remember to keep your core engaged, your shoulders relaxed, and your gaze fixed on one spot to help with your balance.

Doing bhujapidasana regularly can help to strengthen your upper body, improve your balance and coordination, and increase your overall flexibility. Plus, it’s a great way to challenge yourself and have some fun!

So there you have it, kiddo – bhujapidasana explained like you’re five years old. Remember, always be safe and take things slowly, and soon you’ll be a little yoga pro!
