Biafran pound

Okay, imagine you have some toys that you really love playing with. They are your favorite toys and you don't want anyone to take them away from you.

Now, imagine there are many other kids who also want to play with your toys, but you don't want them to. So, you decide to create your own special money that only you and your friends can use to trade things, like toys or candy.

This is kind of what happened in a part of Nigeria called Biafra many years ago. The people there didn't want the government to control their money and trade, so they created their own special money called Biafran pounds.

However, the rest of Nigeria didn't like this and fought against the people of Biafra to take back control of their money and trade. Unfortunately, this led to a war and many people were hurt.

So, the lesson here is that even though it's important to want to keep what's yours, sometimes it's better to work together with others to find a solution that benefits everyone.
