ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Bible errata

The Bible is a very old book that people use to learn about God and Jesus. Sometimes, when people were copying the Bible by hand a long time ago, they might have made a mistake and written down the wrong thing. This mistake is called an erratum.

Today, when people print the Bible using machines, they can check to see if there are any errata, and fix them before they print lots of copies. This means that you can read the Bible knowing that most of the mistakes have been corrected.

However, some older versions of the Bible might still have some errata in them. So, when people read the Bible, they need to be careful and think about whether the words they are reading are accurate or not.
