Big O in probability notation

Big O notation is a way of measuring how quickly a probability calculations will work. It tells us how the number of steps in the calculation will increase as the amount of data or the number of possibilities changes. Big O notation is like a scale for how much work a probability calculation will take. The lower the Big O number, the fewer steps it takes to finish the calculation.
