Bihari Mauritians

Bihari Mauritians are people who come from a place called Bihar, which is a state in India. Mauritius is a country located in the Indian Ocean, and some people from Bihar have moved to Mauritius and made it their home.

Just like you have friends who come from different places, Mauritius is a country where people from different parts of the world have come together to live. Some people from Bihar, who are called Bihari people, have chosen to move to Mauritius for various reasons, such as finding better opportunities or starting a new life.

When they come to Mauritius, these Bihari Mauritians bring with them their culture and traditions from Bihar. They speak languages like Bhojpuri, which is a language commonly spoken in Bihar and some other parts of India. They also have their own yummy dishes, like pakodas (which are like deep-fried snacks) and roti (which is a bread made from wheat flour).

Bihari Mauritians are known for their hard work and dedication. They are often involved in businesses, such as running shops or working in the agricultural sector. Some Bihari Mauritians have become successful entrepreneurs and contribute to the economy of Mauritius.

Just like any other group of people, Bihari Mauritians also celebrate festivals and have their own customs. They celebrate festivals like Holi, which involves throwing colorful powders and water at each other, and Diwali, which is the festival of lights.

Even though they have moved away from Bihar, Bihari Mauritians still have a special connection to their roots. They may visit their families and friends in Bihar from time to time and keep in touch with their culture and traditions.

In Mauritius, Bihari Mauritians have integrated into the larger Mauritian society, which is made up of people from different backgrounds. They contribute to the rich cultural diversity of Mauritius, adding their own unique flavors, traditions, and contributions to the country.
